“Patient experience touches everyone in the healthcare industry – and many of the best solutions for improving the patient experience are found within the frontlines of patient care,” says James Bryant, DNP, RN, CEN, CCRN, NEA-BC, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, Cleveland Clinic. “As nurses, we are on those frontlines every day. While Cleveland Clinic’s Patient Experience Summit focuses on the collective responsibility of all caregivers in improving patient care, it features dedicated attention specifically to nursing and the nurse’s role in transforming the way care is delivered.”
The 2017 Patient Experience Summit takes place May 22-24, at the Cleveland Convention Center in downtown Cleveland. Throughout the Summit’s three days, nurses, nurse leaders and other attendees will have the opportunity to learn and share, network and build relationships, and garner proven best practices and actionable advice.
The theme of the 2017 Summit is “Empathy by Design,” thus a selection of event topics will explore innovative ways to create and sustain a human-centric environment. From designing programs and services to structures, spaces and processes, empathy is key to delivering care that can truly meet the needs of everyone.
Featuring various expert nurses from throughout the world, several event sessions and panels are designed specifically for nursing professionals, including:
- Family Visitation Matters: Meeting the Needs of Child Visitors in the Adult ICU
- From Concrete to Compassion: Constructing Culture into Your New Facility (Expert Panel)
- Strategies to Help Nurse Leaders Engage Staff and Improve Excellence
- Disasters: The Cleveland Clinic Way (Expert Panel)
- Nurturing the Future of Nursing Practice: A Leadership Empowerment Program for Clinical Nurses
“The Patient Experience Summit is a wonderful opportunity to network and learn from colleagues across the country,” says K. Kelly Hancock, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Cleveland Clinic Executive Chief Nursing Officer, Cleveland Clinic and Summit co-chair. “This event features a variety of topics related to the experience of patients, families and caregivers.”
