Ten specialties ranked in top 5

For the second year in a row, Cleveland Clinic is ranked the No. 2 hospital in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, while earning the No. 1 ranking in urology and retaining its position as the nation’s No. 1 hospital for cardiology and heart surgery for the 23rd successive year.

U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals 2017-18” also named Cleveland Clinic the No. 1 hospital in Ohio and the Cleveland area. In all, 14 Cleveland Clinic specialties earned national rankings, including 10 specialties ranked among the Top 5 nationwide.

Heart care excellence still going strong

Since 1995, no hospital has ranked higher in heart care than Cleveland Clinic.

Urology and nephrology programs top ranked

Cleveland Clinic’s urology program is ranked No. 1, continuing its 18-year trend of ranking No.1 or No. 2.

Rankings compiled from objective data

With this year’s No. 2 overall ranking, Cleveland Clinic has been ranked among the country’s Top 5 hospitals for 19 consecutive years.

In compiling its rankings, U.S. News studied objective data, such as risk-adjusted survival, readmission rates, volume, patient experience, patient safety, quality of nursing care and other care-related indicators. According to U.S. News, these rankings recognize hospitals that excel in treating patients who need an especially high level of care.
