Centered on the theme, “Steps to Success: Successful Diabetes Education Programs and Team Approach,” the 2017 symposium is intended for registered nurses and nursing caregivers as well as dietitians, care coordinators, pharmacists, psychologists, diabetes educators and other diabetes care team members.
The event will feature numerous exhibitors and vendors and a day filled with information sharing by healthcare experts near and far. Content will cover a wide array of topics, including criteria and process for obtaining certified diabetes educator certification, how to differentiate the ADA (American Diabetes Association) and AADE (American Association of Diabetes Educators) accreditation process for program recognition, and the role of dietitians, pharmacists and others on the diabetes care team.
Specific topics that will be covered include:
“We have an exciting lineup of guest speakers, presenters and topics slated for the 2017 symposium,” says event coordinator Andrew Sine, MSN, RN, Senior Director of Ambulatory Nursing at Cleveland Clinic Florida. “Without doubt, the curriculum will provide attendees with an immense amount of helpful information, education, resources and insight into the comprehensive care of patients with diabetes.”
Cleveland Clinic Florida’s 2017 Endocrinology Nursing Symposium will begin at 7:30 a.m. EST and will conclude at 5 p.m. EST. Registration is available prior to the event as well as on the day of the event. Attendees will have access to sponsors and vendors throughout the symposium, as well as online access to abstracts and presentations. Continuing education credits are available.
