Taking place June 18-20 at the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, the theme of this year’s dynamic inter-professional event is “Empathy Where You Are.” The Summit, which draws roughly 2,000 attendees annually, will feature expert speakers, panel and roundtable discussions, interactive experiences, and workshops that explore innovative ways to demonstrate empathy and provide value to patients and caregivers throughout their journey of care.
Over the course of three days, attendees will have the opportunity to learn and share, network and build relationships, and garner proven best practices and actionable advice.
Nurses and nurse leaders especially will benefit from various summit sessions and topics, such as healthcare leaders who focus on the experience of frontline employees, how to communicate with H.E.A.R.T. around the globe, framing self-care strategies from the holistic nurse point of view, the role of advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) in healthcare today, how to connect empathy and excellence through tiered huddles, and more.
With presentations and discussions from numerous expert nurses throughout healthcare, several breakout sessions and panels are designed specifically for nursing professionals, including:
“Of all the characteristics that make a great nurse, empathy is often considered the most essential,” says Kelly Hancock, DNP, RN, NE-BC, Executive Chief Nursing Officer for Cleveland Clinic health system. “Responding with empathy requires nurses to put themselves in their patient’s shoes to truly understand how a patient or patient’s family member feels so they can provide care in the most appropriate, accurate way possible. The content shared at this year’s summit will really help nurses and nurse leaders explore ways to elevate and showcase empathy – not only for their patients, but also for their fellow caregivers.”
The 9th Annual Patient Experience Summit begins at 12 p.m. EST on Monday, June 18 and adjourns Wednesday, June 20 at 12:30 p.m. EST. Interested attendees may also register to attend the below add-on CME courses, which will be offered following the Summit:
