The symposium theme, “Navigating through Clinical Challenges,” offers a combination of optimism and strategy to give digestive disease practitioners an edge in the pursuit of positive clinical outcomes.

Applying skills, assessing clues, demonstrating confidence and more

The 2016 Digestive Disease Nursing Symposium has much to offer attendees. Symposium sessions will address imperative caregiver considerations, such as:

  • Applying therapeutic communication skills to difficult clinical situations
  • Noticing and assessing for critical clues in the management of serious patient complications and reducing hospital readmissions
  • Skill-development workshops on topics such as sharpening debridement skills, learning how to use global pouching skills, the future of endoscopy, and operating room safety

The event will enhance caregiver knowledge and empower nurses with new skills and strategies to improve overall quality of patient care. It will also give novice nurses the opportunity for professional growth and development. Participants will be asked to identify at least one skill they will take away and put into practice.
