Cleveland Clinic Children’s new home will be in the former four-story Taussig Cancer Center on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus. The expansion will unite both primary and specialty outpatient care in one convenient, coordinated environment better equipped to manage Cleveland Clinic Children’s 750,000+ patient visits. Children requiring hospitalization or complex care will continue to receive treatment within the M building on Cleveland Clinic’s main campus.

“This is an exciting new chapter in the history of Cleveland Clinic Children’s,” says Rita Pappas, MD, Interim Chair of Cleveland Clinic Children’s. “This new building will help bring visibility to the Cleveland Clinic Children’s brand. More importantly, it will allow hundreds of doctors, nurses, therapists and other caregivers to work side-by-side to enhance the care and experience of every child.”

The new, 120,000-square-foot pediatric outpatient center will feature:

  • 54 exam rooms
  • 4 procedure suites for outpatient procedure staff by board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists
  • 20 private infusion rooms
  • 4 ECHO rooms
  • 3 pulmonary function rooms
  • X-ray and ultrasound testing
  • Stress testing
  • Blood draw lab with 5 private rooms
  • On-site laboratory testing conveniently located on the first floor
  • Playroom for patients and siblings
  • Family-focused education center with computers and patient resource information
  • Child-friendly café and nutrition center
  • Outpatient treatment services including audiology, behavioral health, cardiology, endocrinology/diabetes, gastroenterology, hematology/oncology, infectious disease, neurology, nutrition, primary care and pulmonology

New technologies focused on enhancing patient care and experience will include:

  • Pediatric infusion bays designed for children of all ages and sizes
  • Technology bar featuring tablets and touch monitors in common areas to entertain and engage families
  • Wayfinding software to assist patients and families with navigation through the facility
